Transforming Alto Cayma
The Hollingsworth Family Ministry has been invited to work in partnership with Serving Alto Cayma (SAC), a vital, compassion-centered team serving nearly 400 individuals and families. Our partnership is focused on Alto Cayma and its ever expanding borders in the outskirts of Arequipa, Peru, a city of over one million people.
Working in partnership with SAC, we endeavor to promote life transformation in the community through:
1) frequent home visits to deepen relationships, share God's Good News, and pray with, encourage, and simply love people
2) development of a discipleship, mentoring, and vocational training program in the local community center of SAC, and
3) development of community groups (Bible study, training, fellowship and worship) in homes and community centers.
TAC staff members are a spiritual resource for the Serving Alto Cayma staff as well by modeling Christ in community while providing opportunities to learn more about God through His Word.
God's Word compels us
"By this we know love, that He laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth." (1 John 3:16-18)
"And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another…" (2 Cor. 3:18)
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and His love is perfected in us." (1 John 4:7-12)
