Meet John and Carol Hollingsworth

John and Carol lead the Transforming Alto Cayma ministry. Both John and Carol moved several times while growing up, John as a pastor’s son and Carol’s family with the Air Force. Their paths crossed when they both transferred to the University of Cincinnati and became involved in Campus Crusade for Christ. After graduation they were married, moved to Oregon and had four children.  The Hollingsworths enjoy helping believers discover the wonders of God’s Word and apply it to their lives. They have had opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in a variety of settings in the US and South America.  As a family they love practicing hospitality and encouraging friends and neighbors.

John became a Christian at a young age, and had long desired to commit his life to full-time ministry. Carol grew up learning a lot about God, but didn’t understand that she could have a personal relationship with Him until she met Christians in college. By the time she was baptized a year later, she felt God calling her to missionary service.  After John graduated seminary, the Hollingsworths set their sights on South America.  In 2009 the family moved to Costa Rica for language school, and in 2010-2013 they served in Jujuy, Argentina as directors of a Bible camp in the foothills of the Andes.  They also had opportunity to participate in the start-up of a home Bible study, share the Gospel in the local school system and support local churches through teaching and preaching.
